Pomegranate Sartorial was born from a deep appreciation of the process of transmutation—of fabric, of myth, and of self. Clothing is more than something we wear; it is a language, a ritual, a way of stepping into the world with intention. Each piece I create is meant to carry that magic.

I’m Tevya, the designer and maker behind Pomegranate Sartorial. I was ten years old when my grandmother taught me to sew, and I’ve been making costumes and specialty clothing ever since. Along the way, I built nearly two decades of experience in professional patternmaking and garment construction. After a layoff from the nine to five world of production patternmaking, I am returning, fully, to the joy of creating with my own hands, and on my own schedule.

The name Pomegranate Sartorial was inspired by Persephone, goddess of cycles, rebirth, and hidden worlds. Much of my work is touched by goddess mythologies—Hera, Aphrodite, Hecate, Brigid, and others—as archetypes of strength, beauty, and transformation. Myth has spoken to me since my introduction to it in my sophomore, high school English class, and has carried me through understanding the human psyche for decades.

Most of what I create are one-of-a-kind custom garments, but I’m also beginning to develop themed projects—like my current bathhouse-inspired line, soon to be available at a dear friend’s establishment. I do everything from “ground-up” original creations and “garment mashups” from pieces already in your closet, to high-end alterations. Whether one-off or small run, each piece begins with story, imagination, and reclaimed or remnant fabrics that deserve a second life. My aim is to keep as much out of landfill as possible. So many of us have those garments hanging in our closets that we can’t part with but never wear; often just a few tweaks can get those garments back on your body and making you feel fabulous!

I create for all humans, across the spectrum of genders and body types, who seek clothing as a form of expression and transformation—for people who want to embody power, playfulness, and presence. My work is for those who value sustainability, creativity, and the energy of clothing made with care.

Pomegranate Sartorial is not fast fashion. It’s a slower, more soulful approach: garments made to honor the body that wears them, the fabric they’re built from, and the story they tell. Let’s create something unforgettable together!
